A copy of my book, "Understanding Local Government and Town Planning in NSW" is now available.

This book has been prepared as a practical guide to those wishing to understand the NSW planning system, local government and the process of development approvals.

The book is suitable for a range of people who might interact with local government or development approvals including architects, property developers, members of resident action groups etc.

I describe a wide range of things in the book including the structure of local government and how it operates, development approvals, building certification, development contributions/planning agreements and reviews/appeals.

It is a good starting point for those looking to learn about the system or for those looking to fill in gaps in their knowledge.

Great introductory resource regarding NSW town planning framework and processes. May need a sub-section on County Councils that provide utility functions (eg. water and/or wastewater) over significant areas within NSW... and also how they (don't but should) integrated into their respective constituent council's planning approval processes
